Bring Financial Fairness and Stability
Republican financial planning has emptied our State reserves, decimated services to our most vulnerable residents, and shifted more of our financial burdens to those who can least afford it. Now, they are planning to bankrupt our State, municipalities, and service districts. I will fight to bring fairness and responsibility back to our State government.
OUR PLATFORM
Bring Economic Opportunities that Benefit All Missourians
Republicans in the Legislature have actively harmed Missouri workers by taking away their voter approved sick leave and increases to the minimum wage. They have made it harder to develop clean, affordable energy while we are forced to import over 15% of our energy from other States. We must also thoughtfully regulate the spread of data centers across our State. We face serious challenges and we must develop an economy that creates jobs that pay enough to have a dignified life, implement policies that help our families stay healthy, and foster economic growth that provides for a sustainable future for our State.
Fund the Education We Deserve
In just this session alone, Republicans have tried to close several State Colleges, cut funding for K-12 education by $190 million, and break apart the St. Louis County Special School District. We currently rank 36th in total per-pupil spending, and have recently been ranked 49th(!!!) in state funding per-pupil. We have also budgeted $60 million for private schools in our State budget. The assault on education funding must stop; I will never support a decrease in education funding. Our children's future and the future of our State depends on a top-tier education system.
Meet the Needs of Our Seniors and Most Vulnerable Missourians
When your Mom is both a Senior and disabled, the inequalities of our society are visible to you on a daily basis. Luckily for my family, we have been able to get the care and services that my Mom needs in order for her to have a great quality of life. But I know that many Missourians are not as fortunate. We must ensure that our social services meet the needs of those who depend on them. I will be a strong and vocal ally for those citizens, and work to give them the quality of life and respect they deserve.
Make Healthcare Affordable and Accessible
Healthcare costs are skyrocketing for everyone, access to healthcare is tenuous for many Missourians, and rural hospitals are in danger of a complete system collapse. All the while, Republicans have done absolutely nothing to help. I will fight to lower costs, ensure access to healthcare for all Missourians, and reverse the rural healthcare collapse.
Support Labor and our First Responders
I have a strong tack record of supporting and delivering real results for Unions and First Responders. This will continue in the Legislature. I will always advocate for protections for our workers and their rights to collective bargaining. Our first responders put their lives on the line for us every day, and I will always work to ensure they have the protections and resources they need and deserve. I pledge to introduce or co-sponsor the Firefighters Bill of Rights in the Legislature.
Protect our Environment
Fight for Equality
Fight for Abortion Access and Women's Rights
The attack on women from the right has been unending in our State. Republicans in the Legislature have cut funding for women's healthcare providers, given tax breaks to fund sham "pregnancy resource centers", and are now ignoring the the will of the voters to try and ban abortion access. I will be an unwavering ally of women and work every day to undo the backwards policies impacting their lives in this State. We must defeat Amendment 3.
Our State has tremendous State Parks, wildlife, and environmental resources. Ensuring their survival will guarantee a Missouri that all future generations can enjoy. We must expand our conservation initiatives, stop weakening our building regulations, and implement serious changes to our State energy polices.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I will be an unwavering advocate and loud voice for equality in our State. The assault on equal rights and representation in Missouri has been gaining momentum that must be stopped. I will fight to defeat Amendment 3. I will also introduce or co-sponsor legislation that protects LGBTQ+ youth, amends the Missouri Human Rights Act to be inclusive, and repeals the restrictions on education in schools.
